A union parishad chairman and six others have been sued for allegedly demanding extortion from a man in Brahmanbaria's Sarail upazila.

Bachchu Mia, plaintiff of the case, said, “When I went to take possession of my purchased land on Thursday (September 5), the accused threatened to take my life anytime and demanded Tk 20 lakh as toll. They physically tortured me.” I want justice, he added. UP Chairman Mosharraf Hossain said, “The allegations brought against me are false and ill-motivated.
