Bangladeshi Cultural Personage Shwapnil Shojib Recognized by Somerset County, New Jersey
The Mayor and Council of the Township of Franklin, Somerset County, New Jersey in the United States of America recognized Shwapnil Shojib, as honored by Mayor Phillip Kramer and Deputy Mayor Shepa Uddin, for his outstanding contributions to music, art, and social awareness. Somerset County, New Jersey, expresses its heartfelt appreciation for Shwapnil Shojib's endeavors in fostering cultural exchange and understanding through Shojib's artistic talents.

Popular Bangladeshi singer, actor and anchor Shwapnil Shojib is well-known for his evocative performances in Rabindra Sangeet, folklore and independent music.

The Mayor and Council of Franklin, Somerset County wrote in its letter of appreciation,

“Whereas, a state is only as great as those people and organizations that give exemplary service to their Community, whether through charitable acts, through unique achievement in professional or other endeavors, or simply through a lifetime of good citizenry; and WHEREAS, such dedication and service, which are indeed the lifeblood of any great community, people and state, merit recognition and reward.”

Starting off as a child prodigy, Shojib’s journey in music began at the age of five, and his passion quickly propelled him into the limelight. Over the years, he has shared stages with some of the world’s greatest musical icons including Viswa Mohan Bhatt, Amjad Ali Khan, Asha Bhosle, Runa Laila, Hariharan, Shreya Ghoshal and Padmashree Rezwana Choudhury Bannya. These collaborations are a testament to his unparalleled skill and dedication to promoting Bengali music on the global stage.

Shwapnil Shojib’s career boasts numerous accolades, including the Babisas Award (2018), Nepal International Iconic Award (2021), Bangladesh International Fame Award (2022), and the Global Music Award in Dubai (2018) for his song “Khoyeri Bikel.” He has also won top honors in Bangladesh, such as the Jatiyo Shishu Purushkar in Rabindra Sangeet (1998) and the Shera Bangali and Bongoratna Shomannona (2022), and most recently received the Best Singer Award at the 21st Tele Cine Award (2024) in India.
