Film star Nusrat Faria released on bail

 
Popular Dhallywood film star was granted bail by the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court, Dhaka on Tuesday. Nusrat Faria submitted a plea to the court yesterday morning applying for a bail. The court approved Nusrat Faria's bail application after a hearing was held. Later in the afternoon, she was released from Kashimpur High Security Jail.

Nusrat Faria's lawyers Farhan Md. Araf and Mohammad Iftekhar Hossain told reporters that Nusrat Faria was in Canada from July 9 to 14 August 2024. The relevant documents were produced before the court. Afterwards Nusrat Faria's bail petition was accepted.

Immigration Police at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka arrested Nusrat Faria on Sunday while she was about to fly to Thailand. Later on she was shifted to the Detective Branch (DB) office under Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

Advocate Farhan Md. Araf said "Justice has been done to Nusrat Faria. She was out of the country when the occurrence described in case papers took place. It was not logical to arrest her. Anyway, justice has prevailed."

Her lawyers further have informed that Nusrat Faria will stay on bail until Police Department submits the complete statement of the case to court. Nusrat Faria's legal consultants expressed gratefulness to the court.
