The first day of the second round of three days of tariff talks between Bangladesh and the US has concluded in Washington, DC. The talks were very comprehensive, touching upon almost all the key aspects of the trade relationships between the two nations, the Chief Advisor's Office says in a statement, bdnews24 reports. Commerce Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin led the Bangladesh delegation in DC. National Security Advisor Dr Khalilur Rahman and the Chief Advisor's Special Assistant on ICT and Telecommunications Faiz Ahmed Tayeb joined the talks virtually from Dhaka. Senior commerce ministry officials also attended the meeting in the US capital.
US officials from its agriculture, energy, commerce, and copyright agencies also joined the meeting.
The meeting will resume at 9pm Bangladesh time on Thursday. Talks will be held on Friday as well.
