Martyr Mahreen Chowdhury set a unique paradigm of serving humanity. She was not merely a devoted teacher but a dedicated mother who with her maternity affection and love smilingly laid down her invaluable life for rescuing so far 20 learners from the tragic happening caused in a training jet plane crash at the Milestone School at Uttara in Dhaka city.
So far it is learnt that Mahreen Chowdhury did graduation and post graduation in English Literature from Manarat International University, a leading private university in Bangladesh. She joined Milestone School & College a decade back and had been discharging the responsibility as a senior Teacher with good reputation. She was a very favourite teacher among her students. So, she gave the return of love and affection through saving 20 learners from certain death and sacrificing her life in the long run. She was a coordinator of the senior section there. Mahreen Chowdhury left behind her husband, two children and a host of relatives & admirers to mourn her death. Her husband is currently aggrieved at his wife' s sudden demise. Her children are now looking for their beloved mother. It is, in fact, such a heavy atmosphere which is not possible for anybody to express. It is reported that Mahreen Chowdhury was a very sociable and cooperative minded lady. She used to perform five-time prayer and religious rites in a befitting manner. Her colleagues are presently dumbfounded to hear her sudden demise. They also can't comprehend what happened. They all highly eulogized her great contribution to the marooned learners. They are proud of being her close associates.
Mahreen Chowdhury was buried beside her parents in her family graveyard. Mahreen Chowdhury is at present no more. She shall never come back to the earth. She left the beautiful world forever. But she displayed us that she never cared for her petty self interest which nowadays people have quite confined themselves and while in the macabre tragedy accomplished her onerous responsibility overtly defying her personal and family members' interest. She played a paramount role in saving the lives of 20 learners from all-devouring fire. She was able to successfully save them and finally she herself burnt to ashes. Over 80 percent of her body was totally burnt and she passed away setting an extraordinary precedent to the people particularly to her teaching community. She was truly an iconic but an angelic figure of the community of teachers vis-a-vis to the general people across the country. We must take a sublime lesson from her supreme sacrifice and dedication. We should be constantly to each other. We should come forward to stand beside the marooned people rising above our petty interests irrespective of caste, creed and party affiliation. Mahreen Chowdhury ungrudgingly demonstrated this sacred message to all of us.
Our sincerest salute goes to Mahreen Chowdhury with befitting tributes. You shall always remain alive in the hearts of the 18 crore people of the country who always recall incident of saving 20 learners from the jaws of certain death in exchanged for her precious life. May the Omnipotent Allah grant Mahreen Chowdhury the loftiest position in Paradise Jannatul Ferdous. May Allah enable her family members to endure the irreparable loss. Mahreen, delve into a profound slumber with eternal peace. We living comrades always remember your noble and good deeds and supplicate to Almighty Creator for your everlasting peace in the hereafter.
