Mob attacks and harassing cases are most unfortunate: Dr. Asif Nazrul

 
The Bangladesh interim government's Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Professor Dr. Asif Nazrul has said that the outbreak of mob violence and repressive cases against ordinary citizens have been most unfortunate things during last 11 months. However, Dr. Asif Nazrul assured that required corrections have been made in criminal procedure to safeguard innocent people from legal hazards.

Dr. Asif Nazrul made these comments in the Secretariat on Thursday while addressing a press conference. Dr. Asif Nazrul described the goals achieved by the Law Ministry during last almost one year. Dr. Asif Nazrul admitted that some people were trapped in fictitious cases. At the same time mob attacks have jeopardized public safety quite remarkably, he further said.

Dr. Asif Nazrul asserted that the interim government is pledge-bound and determined to dismantle all mob gangs and to restore sound and solid law and order status across Bangladesh.

Dr. Asif Nazrul requested journalists to wait for a few days for announcement on election schedule, when a reporter posed a similar question.
