Sazzad Zahir and Quafee Ratan elected for CPB top posts

 
Kazi Sazzad Zahir Chandan and Abdullah Quafee Ratan have been elected for the President and General Secretary posts of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) through elections respectively during the 13th congress of the party. The elections were held on Wednesday (24 September 2025).

Other elected presidium members are Mujahidul Islam Selim, Rafiquzzaman Layek, SA Rashid, Raghib Ahsan Munna, Jolly Talukder and Aminul Farid. The first meeting of the central committee of CPB comprising 43 members will be held later on.

The 13th congress of CPB commenced on 19 September 2025 in the capital's Engineers Institution. It concluded on 22 September evening. The party's congress dignitaries elected 43 members including Mohammad Shah Alam, Ruhin Hossain Prince, Mihir Ghosh, Shaheen Rahman, Laxmi Chakraborty, Paresh Kor, Aniruddha Dash Anjan, Anwar Hossain Reza, Kazi Ruhul Amin, Sajedul Haque Rubel, Luna Noor, Abid Hossain, Fazlur Rahman, MM Akash, Mrinal Chowdhury, Montu Ghosh, Dibalok Singha, Emdadul Haque Millat, Monira Begum Anu, Monoj Dash, Md. Kibria, Aslam Khan, Nimai Ganguli, Lucky Akter, Manobendra Deb, Sadequr Rahman Shameem, SM Shuvo, Ahsan Habib Lablu, Mohsin Reza, Subrata Roy, Rebecca Soren, Sajidul Islam, Manzoor
