Commerce Adviser Sk. Bashir Uddin has said that five products including tea, salt, detergent and two types of soap will be added to the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh- TCB products list from this year's November. He said this at his ministry's conference room on Monday at a meeting on selection and activation of TCB beneficiaries. The Adviser further said the government provides a subsidy of about five thousand crore tk. to run TCB's activities and five new products will bring some relaxation for the poor as well as it will be able to play a role in controlling inflation.
Sk. Bashir Uddin elaborately came up and said that the government is continuing its endeavor to speed up activities of the TCB. You have to ensure that poor people are not left out of the social security net as well as you have to work sincerely with honesty to select one crore beneficiaries.
He, however, hopefully said that TCB's smart family cards must be reached to the real beneficiaries.
Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman said that selection of actual beneficiaries is a problem and it will be solved rapidly.
Commerce Ministry's Additional Secretary on export Abdur Rahim Khan , TCB Chairman Brigadier General Mohammad Faisal Azad and DCC North administrator Mohammad Ejaz also spoke at the event.
