Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H Mansur has said that banks across the country have been suffering from shortage of qualified and competent Managing Directors and Chief Executive Officers for a long time.
Dr. Ahsan H Mansur made the above comment while addressing the 15th founding anniversary of Financial Excellence Limited. The Governor further said that in many cases a lot of banks don't find efficient officials to head certain vital departments.
Dr. Ahsan H Mansur stated that Bangladesh's banking system needs a great deal of technological sophistication saying that some banks still depend on Indian softwares.
Bangladesh interim government's Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed was also present on the occasion. He said that the interim government is doing much hard work to pull out the banking sector from the debris of corruption and anarchy which was done by the immediate past ruling authorities.
Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed called upon bankers and regulators to work without fears or favours to constitute rule of law, good governance and to recover defaulted loans. Strong initiatives are underway to crack down hard on financial perpetrators, Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed added.
