Hasina plotting to obstruct election from abroad: Rizvi

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Wednesday said Sheikh Hasina is still trying to disrupt the upcoming national election even while staying abroad.

He came up with the remark while addressing the inauguration ceremony of BNP's new membership collection and renewal campaign at Heritage Resort in Narsingdi.

Rizvi said, "Sheikh Hasina has destroyed the country's democracy while Tarique Rahman has united the entire nation, culminating the people's uprising in 2024 and ousting Sheikh Hasina. However, even abroad, she continues to engage in various conspiracies, giving instructions to foil the election."

Under the leadership of Tarique Rahman, the entire nation has united in line with the legacy of the Zia family, which led to the 24th mass uprising that forced Sheikh Hasina to 'flee the country', he claimed.

Without mentioning any name, Rizvi said, a political party though took part in 2024 movement, is now trying to fish in troubled water.

"If you obstruct the election, what would be the difference between you and the party that fled away?" he questioned.

BNP Joint Secretary General and Narsingdi District BNP President Khairul Kabir Khokon presided over the programme. BNP Central Organizing Secretary Kazi Saidul Alam Babul, Assistant Organizing Secretary Nazrul Islam Azad, Freedom Fighters Affairs Secretary Zainal Abedin, Assistant Organizing Secretary for Volunteer Affairs Abdul Kadir Bhuiyan Jewel, and Assistant Science and Technology Secretary Ashraf Uddin Bakul, among others, were present.
