Senior leaders holding top posts in Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) said while addressing a rally in Dhaka city on Friday that the interim government should hand over power to a caretaker government and quit without delay. CPB leaders also condemned decisions to allow foreign companies to operate Chittagong Port. They warned that any attempt to hand down Bangladesh's assets to foreigners will be resisted with the participation of the country's patriotic masses. CPB dignitaries also asserted that a greater alliance needs to be constituted soon tying up all political parties believing in the socialist ideology.

CPB President Sazzad Zahir Chandan, former CPB President and currently CPB Executive Committee Member Mujahidul Islam Selim and Professor Emeritus of Dhaka University Dr. Serajul Islam Chowdhury spoke on the occasion among some other prominent leftist politicians.

CPB leaders stated that Jamaat-E-Islami does not deserve to do politics on Bangladesh's soil because, according to speakers in the leftist rally, Jamaat opposed Bangladesh's independence during the Liberation War of 1971. CPB leaders called upon the authorities concerned to ban Jamaat-E-Islami. They also termed Jamaat as a radical outfit which is a risk factor for progress and secularism across Bangladesh, CPB leaders said during the rally.

CPB leaders also underscored that the July Charter is not a valid document. They complained that certain clauses and points have been described in the July Charter on which the major political parties and concerned stakeholders did not reach any agreement with one another.

Professor Dr. Serajul Islam Chowdhury said that forgetting about or ignoring the value and significance of the glorious Liberation War of 1971 cannot be accepted under any circumstances. Both the Liberation War of 1971 and the Mass Uprising in 2024 were carried out by people from all walks of life for liberating Bangladesh from socioeconomic injustice and inequalities, Dr. Serajul Islam Chowdhury further said underlining the fact that discrimination, graft and irregularities in state organs are still going on.

CPB President Kazi Sazzad Zahir Chandan laid emphasis on uniting all political fronts upholding egalitarian principles and communist precepts for establishing greater benefits of Bangladesh. He stressed that it's vital to fight against the evil entities generated by capitalistic tormentors like corruption, bribery, violating human rights, repressing destitute masses etcetera.
