Nepal won't be allowed to become another Bangladesh

Nepal's interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki said on Sunday that her government would not allow the country to slide into political instability similar to that facing Bangladesh. Sushila Karki's speech has meanwhile gone viral on social media.
Her remarks came amid mounting pressure from political parties and youth groups, reports Views Bangladesh.
Speaking at a public event in Kathmandu, Karki criticized what she described as constant demands for the government's resignation, saying they were undermining stability and governance.
The interim administration, she said, was operating under "storm-like" conditions, with political parties issuing repeated threats to withdraw support and small groups of Generation Z activists frequently calling for the government to step down.
"What does it mean for a government to resign?" Karki said, adding that her administration was being denied the time and space needed to function.
Karki said officials were facing sustained verbal abuse and public pressure, leaving the government in a "pendulum-like" state. She also expressed concern over growing skepticism among young people about elections, with some questioning their relevance.
"We are committed. Nepal will not become another Bangladesh," Karki said, stressing that the government did not want a repeat of the unrest seen elsewhere in the region.
Sushila Karki also spoke of the mental strain on the interim administration and urged mass media to reflect the seriousness of the challenges facing the Nepalese government.
