ICC Has Violated International Sports Rule Discarding Bangladesh from T20 Cricket World Cup

ICC has grossly violated the International sports law replacing Scotland rather than Bangladesh, a qualified cricket country for the T20 World Cup to be held in February 2026. The ICC has abjectly tarnished its glorious image through resorting to the naked partial role in Bangladesh which refused to play in the neighbouring country owing to its players' severe security concerns. The ICC should keep it in mind that it is a quiet game not any political issue. We must always respect the game which offers immense pleasure to billions of people across the world.

Here ICC should not treat Bangladesh as a political party or a country of political vengeance. It is a game and the global cricket forum also monitors cricket round the clock. So it should take its cognizance of its other country’s safety and security concerns with due importance. A member country is worried about their prayers' security in another country for the world cup. It is not a task for the ICC to put pressure on that country to play in the alleged country by any means. If the ICC does so, it will never be wise for it to merge the game with the petty political issue. Moreover, if any country feels its insecurity it may undertake a decision not to play in any country. The global cricket organization should eradicate that country’s insecurity problem.

It is indeed mandatory for the ICC to ensure the safety and security of the reported member country's players. This is worth-mentioning here that India once refused to play in Pakistan for its players' security reasons. Later, ICC rearranged the venue for India in Sharjah in Dubai. Then ICC didn’t discard India or didn’t take any punitive action against this cricket playing country. Many cricket experts allege that ICC cannot take any sort of action against India for its profound influence on it. It is indeed a step motherly attitude towards Bangladesh. It is a matter of great regret that the ICC discarded Bangladesh and replaced Scotland for the forthcoming T20 Cricket World cup. The cricket fans across the world including Bangladesh are really disheartened at the ICC's brazen partisan attitude towards a country like Bangladesh. It has created an image crisis of the highest global cricket Organization.

It is imperative of the ICC to withdraw its decision regarding Bangladesh and ensure the same to take part in the world cup. In the meantime widespread criticism among the cricket fans across the world is being made against the ICC's obstinate decision. Many are of the opinion that ICC has lost impartiality and credibility in this respect. Many demand immediate reformation of this global cricket council.

We strongly demand immediate withdrawal of ICC's decision stated above and ensuring the security of Bangladesh players so that they may get the opportunity to take part in the T20 Cricket World Cup spontaneously and without fear.
