Five more people have died across the country due to suspected measles in the last 24 hours, according to a press release sent from the control room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in Dhaka on Wednesday.

It said that the number of suspected measles patients in the last 24 hours is 1,229 and the number of suspected measles patients from March 15 to April 22 is 27,164. The number of confirmed measles patients in the last 24 hours is 129, BSS reports.

The number of confirmed measles patients from March 15 to till now is 3,934.

Since March 15, 17,998 people have been admitted to hospitals with suspected measles. 

During the same period, 14,892 people have recovered and been discharged from hospitals. 

No one has died from confirmed measles in the last 24 hours, but 38 people have died from confirmed measles from March 15 to April 22. 

In the last 24 hours, 190 people have died from suspected measles from March 15 to April 22. 

During this period, the highest number of suspected measles cases was reported in Dhaka Division, where a total of 12,058 people were infected. Of these, 2,634 people have been confirmed to have measles.
