The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase has approved the procurement of surveillance equipment for the National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. The project will cost Tk 94 crore 90 lakh 51 thousand 137. The proposal was approved at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase held on Wednesday (20 May 2026) afternoon at the Cabinet Division conference room in the Secretariat, chaired by Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury.
Members of the committee were also present at the meeting.
According to meeting sources, the "Expansion of Content Blocking and Filtering System (Phase-1)" project for NTMC is considered highly confidential, sensitive, and important for state security. Therefore, under a limited tender method, bids were invited from nine selected qualified companies for the procurement of equipment for the project.
Three companies submitted technical and financial proposals.
Among them, two proposals were considered technically responsive. After completing all tender procedures, it was decided to purchase the system from Global Brand PLC of Dhaka, the lowest responsive bidder recommended by the TEC.
