The Head Held High
Even if all the darkness in the world gathers together
To silence the voice of truth,
Human conscience still shines
Like the unwavering pole star in the sky.
History bears witness:
Falsehood has never ruled forever.
Just as a wall of sand collapses before a flood,
Arrogance built on lies
Is washed away by the current of time.
Fear is a weakness
That pushes people toward submission.
But history remembers only those
Who never compromised with injustice.
When selfishness becomes a celebration,
When comfort and luxury tempt many
To sell their conscience,
The brave still stand alone
Upon the unshaken mountain of justice.
Fear is only a kind of shadow,
Made larger by the absence of light.
Iron chains may imprison the body,
But who can imprison a free mind?
To bow before injustice
It is to bury one’s own soul alive.
The true meaning of living
Is not merely breathing,
But having the courage
To stand upright with dignity.
Let danger come like thunder,
Let the road beneath our feet fill with thorns,
Still, the one who firmly carries
The banner of truth
Is the one who becomes immortal.
This head held high is not pride alone,
It is the greatest honor of being human.
Humanity never truly loses,
Because this struggle is not only for oneself,
It is an endless fight
To let truth prevail.
