The viral albino buffalo named “Donald Trump” will ultimately not be sacrificed for Eid. Following the intervention of Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, the buffalo was brought back from the buyer and returned to the farm in Narayanganj.
On Wednesday (May 27), Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed shared this information with a private television channel.
The minister said that the decision was made due to concerns over excessive crowds and possible disorder surrounding the buffalo. The buyer from Keraniganj was refunded, and for now, “Donald Trump” will continue to be raised and cared for at the farm as before.
The 700-kilogram albino buffalo had been raised at Rabeya Agro Farm in Paikpara, Narayanganj. It became widely discussed on social media because of its white fur and hairstyle, which many people thought resembled that of U.S. President Donald Trump. As a result, it was named “Donald Trump.”
After going viral, people from far and wide flocked to the farm to see the buffalo. In addition to local Bangladeshi media, international news agencies such as Agence France-Presse (AFP) and Reuters also published reports about it.
