Think about a single day of our life. How do we start? In the morning, after waking up we take the toothbrush with paste, stand before the mirror of the basin and let the tap water flow down. In the meantime, we talk, give instructions to our maid, take long breaths and if we see someone around start morning chatting with him or her.
What about electricity? We often forget to switch off our fans, lights and AC before leaving the room. In the daylight, in a well lighted and ventilated washroom we lit up and then forgot again to turn off.
The case is almost the same in our kitchen. We often do not care about the gas stove turning off, though it can be fatal in many ways. Almost every month a gas burner patient is seen in the hospitals where many die, due to severe injuries. Our lack of consciousness and a little carelessness is responsible in those cases.
We misuse a lot on our dining table, though food shortage has become a common problem even in our urban areas nowadays. A lot of children are suffering badly from malnutrition because they do not have that much required meal for their nutrition. We do not teach our children how it affects the society, especially those who are poor and live from hand to mouth. In the street, many children even go to the dustbin to find our waste food and take it in order to fill their stomach. Those dirty, unhygienic foods are dangerous and may cause many fatal diseases.
Now, when in the name of religion, we even do not care to think of others, how and in what way we expect to have a society full of compassion and respect towards others?
We all know that in every religion, any sort of wastage is prohibited and in order to build a peaceful society, it is our duty to be more cautious about those matters. Should be noted that if we save water , It actually meets the acute necessity of others who are really suffering for want of it. If we save our electricity, it will soon pass and give more power to a hospital or an ICU cabin where necessary.
Children are now suffering all over the country from measles. A lot of children die due to many complications related to the disease and suffer for want of better ICU support. Power supply, in day time, due to extreme heat, is not that much sufficient. It has become acute in the rural areas. Children are suffering more, when we misuse it.
One more important factor should be addressed, and that is our over net addiction. Lot of children in our country have become net addicted and parents nowadays are seen playing songs, videos, reels and many other fun items , and during the feeding period of their kids. Though they know it, when the kids eat, they should stop playing all those devices in order to feed them properly. It is constantly evolving in our cyber world, in order to warn the mother that , if a child eats watching videos or reels it may lead to overeating or less eating which results in obesity or weakness and many other diseases.
So, every moral teaching should be started with those simple things. We should teach our kids not to waste water, electricity and food. We, with our own practice, should show them how it can be useful for those who are in need.
The major thing which we need to focus on is our own personal caring. We need to care for others in order to get the things sufficient when needed. It is also important to make our next generation compassionate towards others.
Responsibility is that sort of characteristic which comes from natural caring, love and respect towards our fellow beings.
