Ismail Jabiullah nominated as ICAPP standing committee member

The Ministry of Public Administration has informed that the Prime Minister's Administrative Adviser (equivalent to minister) Ismail Jabiullah has been nominated as a standing committee member for International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) from Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). A press release to this end was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Monday (22 June 2026).

Earlier on Local Government and Rural Development Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir proposed Ismail Jabiullah's name for the above post in ICAPP. BNP Joint Secretary General Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohel and Ismail Jabiullah are scheduled to join the 45th conference of ICAPP in Mongolian capital Ulan Bator from 25 to 28 June 2026.

Participants in the above conference will be exchanging views on political circumstances, rule of law, good governance, development programs and different reciprocal matters. In the past former BNP Vice Chairman Abdullah Al Noman and current Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon represented BNP in ICAPP from 2004 to 2005 and 2006 to 2009 respectively.

Ismail Jabiullah's appointment in ICAPP is being regarded as BNP's substantial progress in getting engaged with international platforms. Political analysts have also noted this nomination as a diplomatic success on part of BNP and expectations have been resonated that Ismail Jabiullah will be able to work for making BNP all the more vibrant and acceptable on the global stage.
