4 more die with measles symptoms in 24 hours
Four more people with measles symptoms have died across the country in 24 hours, according to a press release issued on Sunday by the Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The press release said the number of suspected measles cases recorded in 24 hours stood at 990, while the total number of suspected measles cases reached 123,753 from March 15 to July 26.
It said 170 confirmed measles cases were reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed measles cases to 15,442 since March 15.
From March 15 to July 26, a total of 106,239 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals across the country. During the same period, 102,467 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.
The release said four people with measles symptoms died in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths among children with suspected measles to 725 since March 15.
No death from confirmed measles was reported in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths from confirmed measles stood at 95 from March 15 to July 26.
