Fazlul Hoque made FBCCI administrator

The Commerce Ministry has appointed Md Fazlul Hoque as the administrator of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI). The ministry issued an order in this regard on 26 July 2026 under the Trade Organizations Act, 2022, and relieved former administrator and senior additional secretary Md Abdur Rahim Khan of his duties with effect from June 27.

The appointment aims to ensure continuity in the FBCCI's activities and keep the organization compliant with the Trade Organizations Act, 2022, the Trade Organizations Rules, 2025, the Companies Act, 1994, and other relevant laws, according to the ministry.

The order directs Hoque to hold a free, fair, and impartial election within 120 days and hand over charge to the newly elected board once the process is complete.

Hoque is a former president of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association, a former director of the FBCCI, and a managing director of Plummy Fashions Ltd.

After assuming office, Hoque held an introductory meeting with FBCCI secretariat officials and employees, seeking their full cooperation in carrying out his responsibilities and completing the election within the government's stipulated timeframe.
