Indian envoy meets Prime Minister to strengthen regional ties

High Commissioner of India Dinesh Trivedi had a meeting on Monday with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman of Bangladesh, framing the high-level engagement around shared strategic interests and a mutual desire to deepen economic and diplomatic cooperation.

During the meeting, Mr. Trivedi conveyed formal greetings from Indian leadership, underscoring New Delhi's intent to maintain a constructive, forward-looking, and people-centric partnership with the Bangladeshi government.

The discussions centered on key bilateral matters, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to regional stability, enhanced trade relations and sustained cross-border dialogue.

Both Tarique Rahman and Dinesh Trivedi laid emphasis on fortifying amity and reciprocal cooperation between Bangladesh and India. Dinesh Trivedi assured Tarique Rahman that India views Bangladesh as the closest neighbour and India firmly supports Bangladesh's democratic forward march and economic advancement all the time.

Tarique Rahman thanked Dinesh Trivedi for sharing his valuable time and expressed hope that Bangladesh and India will be working hand in hand in days to come for achieving common regional goals. Dinesh Trivedi extended his sincere best wishes and felicitations to Tarique Rahman for all out success of the Bangladesh government to keep on moving forward.
