PM launches BDT 2,035 cr fund for teachers
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman officially inaugurated the disbursement of non-government teachers' and staff's long-overdue retirement and welfare benefits during a ceremony at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka on Saturday morning.
Following the official launch, the Prime Minister addressed the assembly of educators and administrative personnel, reaffirming the administration's commitment to prioritizing institutional support for the education sector.
To address cumulative arrears and expedite settlement, the government allocated a lump-sum grant of BDT 2,035.86 crore. The Ministry of Education has initiated direct electronic fund transfers to the individual bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries across all 64 districts nationwide, ensuring transparent and efficient distribution.
The funds, which will help clear dues accumulated over the past four years, are being transferred simultaneously to the respective bank accounts of the beneficiaries across all 64 districts.
