Bangladesh says Qatar has "assured it of all possible support" to help address the country's ongoing energy crisis.
Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman met Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani in Doha on Wednesday, bdnews24 reports.
Energy security was among the issues discussed, according to Bangladesh's foreign ministry.
The ministry said Sheikh Mohammed described Bangladesh as a "brotherly country" and assured it of all possible cooperation in ensuring energy security, particularly amid the current challenges.
Qatar's foreign ministry statement, however, did not specifically mention energy cooperation.
It said the two sides discussed bilateral ties, ways to strengthen them, regional and international developments, and issues of common interest.
Khalilur conveyed Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's greetings to Qatar's leadership, expressed Bangladesh's solidarity with Qatar and praised its "constructive and responsible role" in promoting regional peace, security and stability.
He also invited Sheikh Mohammed to visit Bangladesh at a mutually convenient time.
On Tuesday, the first day of his two-day visit, Khalilur met Qatar's finance minister and Energy Minister Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi.
The Bangladesh Embassy said they discussed investment, banking and strengthening longstanding energy cooperation, particularly LNG supplies.
