Thespian Shobha Sen passes away Shobha Sen and Utpal Dutta

Noted theatre personality Shobha Sen died at 95 early on Sunday.  Shobha breathed her last at her South Kolkata residence, family sources said. After the death of son Udayan, Shobha had broken down and spent her last days at the house. She left behind her only daughter Bishnupriya.

After obtaining graduation from Bethune College, Shobha joined Gononatya Sangha. She started her stage acting journey as the lead role in the iconic stage drama 'Nabanna'. She acted in 'Tin Tolowar', 'Titumir', 'Barricade' one after another. She also acted in 'Ekdin Protidin, 'Boishakhi Megh', 'Dekha' and other stage dramas. She had got introduced with Utpal Dutta by dint of stage. Thereafter, they had tied the knot.

The people related to stage arena see the death of Shobha as an end of an era. It is mentionable that Utpal Dutta and Shobha Sen were born in Brahmanbaria Faridpur of Bangladesh respectively. Both of them had migrated to India.
