Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury

Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury (born on 19 October 1928 ) was a Bengali politician, most notable for serving as Prime Minister of Bangladesh from 9 July 1986, to 27 March 1988.  Chowdhury was born in Chandpur District, Bangla-desh. His father was Muhammad Hafiz Chow-dhury and his mother was Mahmuda Chowdhury.  In 1945 he was elected president of Comilla districtunit of All India Muslim Students League.

He participated in the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971 on the pro-independence side. In 1973 he was elected to the Jatiya Sangsad and was made the minister of Rehabilitation. In 1986 he was again elected to the Jatiya Sangsad. On 8 July 1988 he was made the Prime Minister in the cabinet of President Ershad. His term as Prime Minister ended on 27 March 1988.
