Atul Prasad Sen (born on 20 October 1871) was a noted Bengali composer, lyricist and singer, and also a successful lawyer, philanthropist, social worker, educationist and littérateur.
Though he is principally remembered as a musician, lyricist and composer of Bengali songs, his fame as a barrister, his contributions to Nationalist Movements in India, and his social works all made him a leading figure in the history of pre-independence India and Indian Renaissance.
Atul Prasad Sen was born as the eldest child of Ram Prasad Sen and Hemanta Shashi, in a Vaidya-Brahmin family hailing from the village Magor in South Bikrampur, Faridpur District, presently located in Bangladesh. Atul Prasad Sen practised law in Lucknow from 1902 to 1934.
