Police museum holds art contest on Bangabandhu today -The Asian Age


An art competition to mark Father of the Nation Bangabahdu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's 97th birth anniversary and National Children's Day would be held at Rajarbagh Police Lines today. Liberation War Museum of Bangladesh Police (LWMBP) arranged the art competition for children on March 16. The museum exhibits heroic contributions of police for Bangladesh's liberation.

 Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Hoque would present as the chief guest, while Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Asaduzzaman Miah as the special guest.  Talking to newsmen Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police Habibur Rahman, also president of LWMBP, said around 60 students from nine schools would take part in the competition at Rajarbagh.

"We have arranged the function to mark Father of the Nation Bangabahdu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birth anniversary and National Children's Day," he said. Habib said the Liberation War Museum of Bangladesh Police would also distribute certificates among winners of the competition, adding, "The art competition would spark children's interest in Bangabandhu and his great contribution for Bangladesh. Children would also know about the real history of Bangabandhu and Bangladesh."

Some 60 children from Viqarunnisa Noon School and College, Shiddeswari Girls School and College, Willes Little Flower School and College, Motijheel Ideal School and College, Motijheel Government Boys' High School, Motijheel Girls School, Central Government School, Rajarbagh Police Lines School and College and Shaheed Police Smrity School and College would participate in the event.

Member secretary of the organization Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police, Police Headquarters, Abida Sultana is also working to make the event a success.
