Hum-Rubella campaign to be launched -The Asian Age


Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) is going to  launch the Hum-Rubella Immunization Campaign on Wednesday., the campaign will be suspended on March 29.

The Chief  Health Officer of Chattogram City Corporation Selim Akter Chowdhury said,  this at a press conference  at City Corporation General Hospital Conference Room. He said, the target of vaccinating one dose of hum-rubella (MR) was fixed from 18th March till 11 April. 7 lakh 52 thousand children will be given vaccines under the age of 9 months and below 10 years. All children of a certain age will be given a single dose MR vaccine,

The first phase will be administered at all educational institutions on March 18-24th March and in the second phase on March 28-April 12 at all regular vaccination centers.

The chief health officer said ham-rubella is a deadly infectious disease. Ham disease is usually spread by sneezing or coughing in contact with an infected patient. Hum can occur at any age, except for infants. Rubella's disease, on the other hand, enters a healthy body mainly through the air through the respiratory tract and signs of rubella disease.

Pregnant mothers are infected with the rubella virus during the 6 months of pregnancy. In that case, abortion can even lead to the death of the unborn child. Infants are born with a variety of congenital complications known as congenital rubella syndrome (CRS).  The best way to prevent this disease and complication is to protect the child at the right time with a rubella vaccine.
